Lube facts:
- Lube has fewer calories than an ice cream cone.
- Some flavored lubes include sugar to enhance flavor, but sugar may cause yeast infections in some women.
- Glycerin is added for slippery pleasure, and most lubes are made with water and/or glycerin.
- Flavors include: cherry, bubble gum, mint, peach, pina colada, watermelon, blueberry, tangerine, lemon, strawberry kiwi, vanilla, chocolate, grape, cola, fuzzy navel, blueberry and cherry vanilla.
- And then there are sensation lubes….
- Some lubricants are made out of silicone, which does not dry out as quickly as water-based lubricants, but must be washed off with soap and water.
- Lubes can help condoms and dental dams taste good and helps condoms be more effective by reducing friction.
- Adding a dab to the tip of the penis or inside the tip of the condom can increase the sensation for men.
- Don’t slather on Crisco or Vaseline…any oil based lubricant will break down the condom.

Thanks for the great info about lube. Thought you might want to let folks know that some people — up to 20% of the US population — can be sensitive to the glycerin and paraben that’s in most commercial lubricants. (And then there’s the potential long term health impacts of parabens…) There are a few glycerin and paraben-free brands on the market, including a new Astroglide variety that may soon be available at Planned Parenthood.
