New Birth Control Gel

Women have many birth control method choices– and we’re about to get one more! Researchers have just introduced a hormonal cream called Nestrogel, which provides a daily dose of hormones when rubbed into the shoulders, arms, abdomen or thighs.

Is there actually a need for a birth control lotion? Researchers say it will be an important option for those women who struggle to take a pill each day—Nestrogel will become a part of their daily beauty regime.

So far,  little-to-no side effects have been reported for this new birth control. But as Feminists for Choice points out, the product could inadvertently be absorbed by an unintended recipient (like a pet). More testing needs to be done on Nestrogel; we could see it on the market in about 5 years.
