Furries and Plushies are people who like to dress up in furry or plush costumes and go out into the world. Sometimes they have sexual encounters dressed in these costumes.
Furries are people who love animals, remember their favorite live or stuffed animal and want to express their own furry animal side. They enjoy fictional anthropomorphic characters with human personalities and characteristics. The one thing to remember is that Furries should not be confused with people who are into bestiality.Â
Plushies are people are attached to plush toys – whether the toys are from their childhood or current life. The attachment is not necessarily sexual but can be an emotional connection. Some Plushies want to express their individuality by dressing as a Plushie who is a cartoon character, or a depiction of a plush toy.
Other names for Furries and Plushies are Plushophiles, Texturphiles, or Toonophiles. Â
Wanting to be a Furrie or a Plushie is not an uncommon desire. Most people get involved because they have an interest in socializing with people who are interested in anthropomorphic art and costumes.
If you haven’t heard much about Furries and Plushies it’s probably because they don’t want media attention and hype. They are quite often described in a negative way – seen as weirdoes, crazies, or even perverts. They don’t want to be exploited because the culture doesn’t understand their lives. The internet has been a gift to Furries and Plushies, who use it extensively to meet others.
Both Furries and Plushies can have flirtatious encounters and can have sex while being their furry and plushy selves. Â Just like everyone else, their relationship status and sexual orientation varies.
Remember, Furries and Plushies are not having sex any differently than anyone else in the culture and they are not sexual perverts.
