Think you’re having a bad day? At least you’re not having an allergic reaction to an orgasm!

Unlikely as it sounds, researchers say some men are actually allergic to their own semen. Directly after an orgasm, they come down (no pun intended) with flu-like symptoms, or Post Orgasmic Illness Syndrome (POIS).

Symptoms of POIS include fever, runny nose, extreme fatigue and burning eyes and can last up to a week! So that’s why he hasn’t been in the mood lately.

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England’s Education Department carefully selects all weekly questions. All questions are actual inquiries made to PPNNE by college-aged students.
