You Can Thank Social Media for Your Sex Life

Social networking does many things: It keeps us informed on worldly events; connects us with faraway people; and, apparently, it also causes people to jump into bed faster.

Four out of five women and three out of five men believe Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms are catalysts for sex.

Texting is helping our sex lives, too: It’s now the number one way lovers stay in touch—men text 39 percent more often than phoning and women 150 percent more.

Other fascinating facts:

  • 70% of women and 63% of men use Google and other online tools to screen potential dates (well, duh).
  • 72% of women report scouring a current partner’s ex-girlfriend’s Facebook page (Ahem. Guilty.).
  • 81% of all respondents say they would NOT de-friend an ex on Facebook (we’re pretty sure all of these people WOULD, however, post awful/appalling/incriminating photos of their ex post-break up).
