First off, props to you for understanding the importance of getting yourself tested for HIV. Since one in five Americans living with HIV doesn’t know it, testing is more critical than ever.

To answer your questions, testing for HIV can actually be fast and painless. Here at Planned Parenthood, we offer something called Rapid HIV Testing.  We simply use an oral swab to sample the inside of your mouth. Your results are available in about 20 minutes. Traditional testing requires a blood sample and it can take up to a week to get your results…which is why patients really prefer the Rapid HIV test.

June is National HIV Testing Month and is the perfect time to Get Yourself Tested (GYT). Call 1-866-476-1321 to make an appointment. If you’re in the Burlington, VT area, visit us on Church St. this Monday, June 27th—National HIV Testing Day. We’ll be handing out GYT giveaways and fact sheets on how to GYT and stay protected.

Know yourself. Know your status. GYT.
